Walking away
Walking along the footpath
Careful to not step over
The filth and dirty puddle
I met her gaze
Seeing the pain in her eyes
That bores into my heart
And tugs at the touchy spots
I turn my head away
Rushing off to do some social work
Do I have time for her?
Hiding behind my responsibility
I quicken my pace
Thinking of my limitations
That compel me to close my eyes
That force me to ignore her pain
I push on to my destination

If I see such a face with puzzle, I would rather try to solve the puzzle, but then how far and how long could I help it. How many?
You wrote really good...
does all the help reach them...?
Clueless...
break the limitations
dont bind urself down
go figure out the puzzle
breaking every barrier bound
It's a puzzle but a very thought provoking one.
Rushing to do some social work by walking away from pain of a distressed woman is an irony indeed. This is what we witness not infrequently
Beautifully written
very sensitive. and how true. we all hide behind our "resposibilities", not facing the fact that she is also our responsibility.
very honest piece
waah! thats truth simply put in poetic way!

I am guilty of the same thing, gosh how many times I have done the same thing. Very nicely put simple words in depth meaning
Keep writing
